□ A national voice—allowing you to join the chorus that is embracing change in the personal, professional and public lives of American women;

□ A passageway to an improved lifestyle—giving you ground-floor access to pilot programs such as the Caring Collaborative, now being tested in New York;

□ An invitation to attend member-only events, at the member’s price, at any chapter in the US—allowing you to meet other interesting, dynamic women when you travel

New Peer Groups Launch in Philadelphia, PA and Columbus, OH

Philadelphia Chapter launch is a hit, with 73 attendees!

The women of Philadelphia launched their own TTN community with a high-energy evening on February 26. Leaders Mary Klein, Ellen Singer Coleman and Nancy Leon welcomed 73 women to an evening featuring author and radio personality Carol Saline. Carol’s topic, “When your ship comes in, don’t be waiting at the bus station,” warmed up the audience as they formed peer groups and planned their next get-together.

Anyone interested in getting involved with the chapter and joining a peer group should contact Mary Klein (mklein248@comcast.net.)

The chapter is planning a May 7th program featuring TTN Advisory Board member Suzanne Braun Levine speaking about her latest book: Fifty Is the New Fifty.

TTN takes root in Columbus Ohio, with a peer group launch in January.

"Lively!" "Vibrant!" "Such interesting women!" were the words participants used to describe their experience January 22nd when 18 women gathered at Pat Snyder's NW Columbus home to explore launching peer groups and ultimately a Central Ohio chapter of The Transition Network.

After watching the DVD “Let's Face It: Women Explore Their Aging Faces”, the women divided into two groups and shared their own thoughts about aging – its challenges and its pleasures.

At the conclusion of the meeting, three participants volunteered to serve on a steering committee with Snyder to talk about future programming and plan a fast-moving agenda that will get peer groups in place and working in Central Ohio.

They are:
Deborah Gnann, a Columbus lawyer and life coach,
Ann Boer, of Upper Arlington, who recently retired from the practice of medicine, and
Gail McConnon, a professional aging coach from Granville

The Ohio team have also had the benefit of Cynthia Tinapple’s creative e-newsletter design to help them get the word out.

The group had its second meeting on February 26th, with about a dozen women deciding to launch their first peer group. Next meeting is March 23rd. Anyone interested in learning more should contact Pat Snyder at balancingact@columbus.rr.com
