TTN/LI needs you. Please volunteer to participate on one of these important committees. The responsibilities of the various committees are as follows:
Membership Committee
Our
members are the core of TTN LI and the membership committee offers
important support for both individual members and peer groups. This
committee:
- Personally contacts all new TTN members, as well as women seeking information about the organization
- Conducts periodic orientation for new members
- Conducts "Circles of Participation" which assists members in creating new or finding exciting peer groups
- Provides guidance and support during the first three months of the formation of a new peer group
- Acts as liaison and support to peer group facilitators
- Promotes communication among peer groups, sharing ideas and opportunities for collaboration
This
committee is a wonderful way to get to know members and help to provide
the critical connections that will help TTN and our peer groups
thrive. Please contact Marlene Gerber at
smg27@optonline.net to get involved in this great committee.
Public Relations Committee
TTN
may be the best kept secret for many LI women. The public relations
committee is charged with "telling our story" and sharing news about
our activities and programs. This committee works to:
- Develop relationships with various news outlets on LI
- Submit announcements of TTN programs/activities to local newspapers
- Write stories/report on TTN activities and programs for local newsletters, magazines, newspapers, etc.
- Share information on the LI Chapter page of the TTN website
- Assist other committee in publicizing TTN events to members and non-members
Volunteer Committee
The
Volunteer Committee was formed to encourage TTN members to give back to
the community. The committee works with various community agencies to:
- Organize events relating to volunteering
- Keep members apprised of volunteer opportunities
- Partner with other organizations where appropriate
Become
involved as we organize TTN volunteer events, contact and collaborate
with agencies seeking volunteers, and share volunteer opportunities
with our membership. Please contact Sari Goren at
sag105@aol.com. Social Events Committee
The
Social Events Committee designs and coordinates chapter social
activities such as parties, luncheons, concerts, museum tours etc. The
focus of this committee is to bring together TTN members for fun and
social connection. The committee:
- Creates the initial concept for the event
- Arranges the date, time, location and cost
- Invites members and tracks RSVPs
- Welcomes members and generally assures a smooth and fun time for all
Please join us in creating interesting and fun activities for our members. Contact Angela Carrubba at
angelacarr@optonline.net.Program Committee
In
addition to looking for great social activities, our members have asked
for programs that address a variety of interests and current topics.
The program committee works to design programs and workshops that will
share information, and stimulate new ideas and great conversation among
our members. The committee:
- Identifies and develops ideas for programs
- Researches and contacts potential presenters
- Arranges program details such as date, location and cost
- Hosts the event and obtains feedback on the value of the program
This
committee offers a great opportunity to share ideas, meet interesting
people and bring exciting programs to our members. Please contact Dale Davis at
xdaledavisx@yahoo.com to join.
