United We Serve is a presidential service initiative for all Americans. President Obama is asking us to lay a new foundation for our country's growth and recovery. This initiative aims to expand the impact of existing organizations by encouraging new volunteers to participate, in addition to encouraging us to develop our own projects. United We Serve has begun as a summer of service, but it is expected to grow into a sustained effort. Serve.gov is an online resource created to promote volunteer initiatives. There is a wealth of information on it. I urge you to visit this website. What about starting our own volunteer initiatives. Any ideas???? Contact Sari Goren at sag105@aol.com(posted 8/09)
